This print was a lead-in piece to the artist’s American Leisure-Time Obsession Series. The image was the result of a series of studies done at the Boca Raton Club in Florida, near where the artist’s parents lived at the time. His interest in the subject matter for this work was less on the two figures and more on the shapes and forms of the equipment used in the sport: the golf cart, the clubs, and the bags.
