Baseball USA

This limited edition print, published by the artist, was created in conjunction with a commission to design a poster about American Baseball. In 1980 he was the guest of pitcher Jerry Reuss at the Dodger’s spring training camp in Vero Beach, FL. He met manager, Tom Lasorda, many of the teammates, and went jogging with Sandy Koufax. Mike Scioscia, the rookie Dodger’s catcher at the time, posed for the artist for this piece. Of particular note in this image is the three dimensional effect in which the baseball mitt breaks out of the image area and is enhanced with a shadow.
