Fantasy in 3-D

The artist grew up sailing on Manhasset Bay off the north shore of Long Island, NY. As an adult he owned a 29′ Tripp Lentsch design sailboat with a bright red hull and in it he sailed much of the coastline from Long Island Sound to Maine. This image, titled “Fantasy in 3-D”, was inspired by a vision of a much larger racing sailboat with captain and crew. The work is a painted construction made using 12 layers of plexiglas and is held together with a welded aluminum retainer frame.
