“My Last Chair Ever” by artist Clayton Pond is a very special printed edition produced at a famous silkscreen studio, Brand X Editions, in Long Island City, NY. The project is conceived and published by arts philanthropist Harold Friedman. This stunningly colorful and charming piece combines traditional and cutting edge printing techniques. The giclee under-printing of archival inks was accomplished via the state of the art Epson P20000 inkjet printer, offering the finest quality pigmentation and precision available in digital printing. Eleven discreet color plates have been silkscreened by hand to create highly saturated and essential color enhancements all over the surface. The addition of custom mixed oil-based silkscreen inks offers color radiance above and beyond the spectrum achieved by inkjet printing alone. The combination of these two techniques is a challenging and exciting approach to fine art printmaking, and the result is a highly detailed, beautiful, and wholly modern print. This fine publication is the product of years of collaboration and friendship between artist, publisher and studio. “My Last Chair Ever” is an artistic and technical triumph.
